So in my last blog post(nearly six weeks ago), I posted an excel spreadsheet that I was going to use for doing my workouts. After using that particular record-sheet, I decided that formulating the workout for the day was just far too confusing to really be of any use. In turn, I devised a 3 day per week full body foundation workout routine that covers all muscle groups in one session. This is more of the preferred method of building a foundation, as achieving full body fatigue will prepare your body for the strength training phase that comes after. The difficulty with the last spreadsheet, was figuring out which complementary program would need to be done on days following a particular workout. In actuality, that particular worksheet should really be used during the strength training phase, since groups of muscles are exercised on different days. Also, the format of the spreadsheet just did not really make a whole lot of sense once I began using it. So, below is the new workout spreadsheet that can be used for a full body foundation workout. Just select one of the workout templates, copy it to a new worksheet and print it out.
I re-injured my knee ice climbing a few weeks ago, so I will have to extend my foundation building by a few weeks. Having got the go ahead to use my elliptical just this week by my Physical Therapist, I am a bit behind on my cardio workouts. |
